Sima Kotecha

Sima Kotecha is a British television and radio journalist working for the BBC.
She currently is a multimedia reporter for BBC Radio 4’s flagship Today programme and makes regular appearances on the main BBC News TV bulletins as a reporter. She also presents the BBC1 TV news bulletin at 8pm and has presented Radio 5Live’s Up All Night and Newsday on the BBC World Service.
She was born in Basingstoke and was educated locally before going to university at Goldsmith’s College London to study Journalism. Her first job was at BBC Radio Berkshire in 2003 and after that she took up an internship at the BBC’s New York bureau. She worked for Talking Movies and BBC Radio 1’s Newsbeat as their New York reporter from 2005-2010, later working for the PM (BBC Radio 4) programme.
She has reported from Helmand Province on the Afghan conflict. She also covered the historical US Presidential election in 2008, the Oscars on multiple occasions, as well the earthquake in Haiti. Her Twitter account says she is interested in defence and social affairs.
Sima Kotecha now regularly reports on Radio 4’s Today programme. She also works across radio, TV and online.
